As part of the NuVu Studio, an innovation center for high school students to work on multi-disciplinary collaborative projects, Groupshot led a design studio to develop mobile education platforms for slum youth in India. In collaboration with Sesame Workshop India, the goal was to develop a suite of educational smartphone applications to encourage social, emotional, and physical health and to supplement teaching and support informal learning.

Groupshot then led a group of students to conduct field tests with local partners and to research game concepts and technology. Students were coached through the research process and iterative design process to develop a series of insights on the technology and a familiarity with design-based methods. This unusual trip provided an alternative educational experience for nine high school students to visit and work in a developing country with the potential for real and sustainable impact.
